Title: The Problem of Instantaneous Quantum Collapse in a Relativistic Framework
We review the difficulties in describing the process of spontaneous wave function collapse in a relativistic setting. They all emerge from the instantaneous character of the process, which clearly conflicts with special relativistic requirements. We then discuss the issue within the “collapse models” program; in particular, we explore a way out to the problem, emerging from considering the noise responsible for the collapse of the way function as a real cosmological random field.
