Parmenides Workshop 9  Autogenetic Concept Formation

June 11- 17, 2004 on the Island of Elba

Organizer: Britta Glatzeder

Description

Parmenides Workshop 9 was dedicated to prepare a project proposal entitled Autogenetic Concept Formation as a Key to Advanced Cognition (ACF). The ACF project addresses the problem of how cognitive agents can discover and refine concepts leading to successful performance in novel environments about which they have no a priori knowledge. The project proposal has been a collaboration with Helge Ritter and the Neuroinformatics Group, University of Bielefeld and Riccardo Manzotti and the Laboratory for Integrated Advanced Robotics (LIRA Lab) at the University of Genova.
