Main Research Topic 4  Thought-Patterns of Cross-disciplinary Relevance

Engaging in interdisciplinary cooperation, one often encounters thought-patterns, paradigms and heuristics that are of cross-disciplinary relevance. This holds especially true for phenomena related to dynamic self-stabilization and/or processes of structural change of complex systems. The TCR program aims to identify, describe and categorizes those thought-patterns. It is closely linked to EUNICE, a recently established European network of interdisciplinary centers of excellence. EUNICE offers a new type of post-doc and midcareer qualification that familiarizes the participants with a spectrum of TCRs for structural transformation processes stemming from physics and mathematics, biology and evolution theory, cognitive neuroscience and philosophy.
