Learning to Think  Fostering Higher  Cognitive Functions

Between the age of three and four years one of the most fascinating cognitive ability develops – Theory of Mind.

Theory of Mind (ToM) enables us to understand the thoughts, emotions, and mental states of other persons and allows attribution, prediction and understanding of other’s intentions. The development of ToM is often linked to the maturation and changes of prefrontal areas.

We are interested, whether our ToM training changes the quality of prefrontal processes in comparison to a control group and a training group that gets an inductive reasoning training.

We use EEG and behavioural experiments to test children from kindergarten.
